Location and Arrival

When you arrive at Luna Lodge, look for our mini-dome letterbox to confirm that you have reached our property. Please inform us if you anticipate being late so that we can delay the start of the tour if needed.

The Tour – What to Expect

Our tours are intentionally small to ensure a relaxed and intimate experience. You’ll meet and interact with our animals, learn about the land’s rich history, and discover our approach to ethical animal care and sustainable land management.

Our animals are friendly and love interacting with guests and we let them drive their level of involvement with us. We ask that you let them come to you instead of approaching them. If you have a fear of animals, that is okay, many people do. Just talk to us before the tour and we can manage the interactions around what you are comfortable with. Our goal is for all guests to have a positive experience with our animals and leave with a better understanding of them.

The tour is a walking experience over uneven ground, so:

  • Closed-toe shoes are required
  • A moderate level of fitness is necessary
  • Please avoid loose clothing, which may startle the animals
  • Let us know in advance if you have mobility concerns, so we can make alternative arrangements

Important Safety Information

There are several natural and agricultural hazards on the property, including:

  • Uneven ground
  • Unfenced dams and waterways
  • Electric fences
  • Wildlife
  • Dry-stone rock walls (please do not climb on them)

Please note:

  • Our cows have horns — they are gentle but not pets, and we treat them with respect.
  • Children must be supervised at all times.
  • We require one adult per two children, and children under three must be carried when near the cows.

At times, our animals may exhibit impatience or distress, and we may ask you to modify your behaviour for your safety and their enjoyment. Please follow our instructions in such instances.

By attending the tour, you accept the inherent risks and agree to take responsibility for your own safety and that of anyone in your care.

Our Animal Interaction Policy:

During the tour, our priority is the safety and well-being of our animals, as well as our guests. We have a policy of allowing our animals to approach guests on their own terms. For example, we will always stop at a respectful distance from the cows and allow them to approach us. In the rare case that they choose not to (the never have to-date!), we’ll continue the tour with other experiences — and if you feel your visit fell short because of this, we’ll happily offer you a full refund.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans can change, and we are happy to accommodate changes or cancellations to your booking with at least 48 hours’ notice.

  • Full refunds are available for cancellations made more than 48 hours in advance.
  • Cancellations within 48 hours of your tour are non-refundable.

In the event that we need to cancel the tour, we will inform you as soon as possible and provide a full refund of the booking fee.

Weather

Tours proceed in most weather conditions. Please check the forecast at least 3 days before your booking.
If you decide to cancel due to poor weather and provide 48+ hours’ notice, we’ll issue a full refund.
